What We Do
PABALAT
INDIGENOUS CREATIVE CRAFTS
The word Pabalat derived from the Tagalog word balat, which means "skin," Pabalat is a local tradition of cutting small, intricate patterns into delicate papel de japon (Japanese paper) for troche packaging. The design of Pabalat depends on the occasion the Bulakeño family celebrates. Although rappers usually portray Filipino sensibilities and cultures such as Bahay Kubo (Nippahhat). Custom-made products are also available according to customer's request. At local festivals, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions, these beautifully wrapped handmade pastiers are usually the focus of celebration. It is hard to be creative and do this creative pabalat but it is exciting and fun.
